Loren L. Krueger, 93
Loren Leonard Krueger, 93, of LeRoy, died on March 11, 2009 at the Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minn., where he had resided since 2006.
Loren was born in Dexter, Minn. on June 13, 1915 to Carl Juluis and Martha Bertha (Weiland) Krueger. Loren attended school and graduated from the Adams High School in 1934. He worked for George Hormel Company in Austin until going into the Army in 1943 where he served in Europe and Normandy. Loren was honored for his service in the Normandy Invasion by Representative Gil Gutknecht. Upon returning from service duty Loren worked with his Mother in the restaurant business in Grand Meadow until going into the grocery store business in LeRoy with Hilary Garvey. Loren and Cleone Morse were married in 1943 at St Ignatius Catholic Church in Spring Valley. She passed away in 1972. One son, Lance, was born in 1950 and passed away in 1969 at the age of 18. Loren was united in marriage to Margaret Armstrong in July of 1976 In Rochester. She passed away in 1993. Loren enjoyed playing cards and looking after his cattle.
Loren is survived by a nephew, Dick (Kathy) Todd, Bloomington, Minn.; great-nephew, Mike (Julie) Todd, Hawaii; cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Cleone and Margaret; son, Lance; parents and sister, Virginia Todd.
The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in LeRoy, Minn. with the Reverend Don Schmitz officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, with the LeRoy American Legion providing military honors. Visitation will be one hour before the Service at St. Patricks Catholic Church on Saturday March 21. Hindt Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
