Evelyn H. Accurso, 92, of Austin, died at her home on March 22, 2009. 
Evelyn was born on Nov. 12, 1916, in Mason City, Iowa, to Charles and Madge (Barr) Snipps. She grew up in Mason City where she graduated from Holy Family High School. She earned a degree from Mason City School of Cosmetology. She married John Accurso on Jan. 15, 1937 at Mason City. The couple moved to Austin in 1945. Evelyn worked as an aide at the Cedar Child Care Center. She loved the Minnesota Twins and enjoyed quilting, reading, and belonged to a quilting club.
She is survived by two sons, Charles (Joyce) Accurso, Amarillo, Texas and Richard (Marjorie) Accurso, Celina, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Balek, Mason City; brother-in-law, Anthony Accurso, Bancroft, Iowa and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2009 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Friends may call at Worlein Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 25 from 4 to 7 p.m.  Rosary service will be at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to Austin Hospice, Austin Senior Center  or St. Augustine Catholic Church. Worlein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
