The 2010 Census is nearing, meaning Mower County residents have a chance to apply for work if they recently lost their job are retired are in college or just want some extra money.

They will also have a chance to perform an important service for our country that provides valuable population data both locally and ultimately nationally.

Applications will be taken today beginning at 9:30 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. at the Austin Public Library.

Census jobs in Mower County could reach 1,000.

This is a great job opportunity for those who are in need of one or for those who have extra time and simply want to help out their community.

It is also important for all of us to take part in the Census to make sure the data is as accurate as possible.
