Mabel Penkava, 93 
Mabel Penkava, 93, of Austin, died on Dec. 16, 2008 at Prairie Manor in Blooming Prairie.
Mabel was born Aug. 16, 1915 in Lansing Township, Minn. to John and Minnie (Saman) Hudechek. On Dec. 4, 1934 she was united in marriage to Joseph Penkava in Mower County. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1994. Mabel was a homemaker and she loved her family. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, doing puzzles and playing cards.
Survivors include a daughter, Irene Noble, Austin; daughter-in-law, Carol Penkava, Lyle; four grandchildren, Darwin Noble, Austin, Connie (Rick) Willmott, Platte, S.D., Kathy (Miqual) Garcia, Nevada, Iowa, Allen (Mary) Penkava, Austin; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Richard Penkava and Donald Penkava; son-in-law, Ronald Noble.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at Mayer Funeral Home with Todd Portinga officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service on Monday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The casket bearers will be Darwin Noble, Allen Penkava, Kenneth Penkava, Rick Willmott, Eric Willmott and John Penkava.
