2 car fires reported

The Blooming Prairie Fire Department responded to a car fire early Wednesday evening.

According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Office report, the vehicle was a 1993 Jeep Wagoneer and occurred at around 5:30 p.m. in the driveway of a home owned by Brendon Trocinski at 28468 540th Avenue. The Wagoneer was owned by a female who lived at the residence, but her name was not available.

The fire was believe to have started in the wiring but is still under investigation.

Brownsdale Fire Department responds to car blaze

The Brownsdale Fire Department responded to a car fire at 275th Street and 600th Avenue Monday evening at around 7:45 p.m.

Vanessa Mandler, 18, of rural Brownsdale was driving a 1999 Plymouth Neon when the car lost power and went into the ditch, according to the Mower County Sheriff’s Office. The car then began to smoke and then caught fire.

The Brownsdale Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire.
