Shirley J. Gabrielson, 80
Shirley Jerelene Gabrielson, 80, of Austin, died on Nov. 5, 2008, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Blue Earth.
She was born June 12, 1928 to Ernest and Mabel (Montgomery) Storry in Austin. After attending Whittier School and graduating from Austin High School in 1946, Shirley was a bookkeeper. She married Gordy Gabrielson on June 11, 1950 at First United Methodist Church in Austin. They raised three children. A homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church, Shirley bowled on the church league for 25 years. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing and spending time with her friends. She became a resident of St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Blue Earth in 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Dale (Diane) Gabrielson, Sartell, Gary (Rhonda) Gabrielson, Austin; daughter, Janelle Gabrielson, Austin; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Jenny) Gabrielson, Matthew (Korina) Gabrielson, Amanda (Justin) Draeger, Melanie, Carissa, Brittney and Chelsea Gabrielson; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Logan Gabrielson; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Storry, Woodbury; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph “Gordy” Gabrielson; brother, Lyle Storry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Patricia Toschak officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers.
