Kenneth Fretty, 81
Kenny “Kenny” Fretty, age 81, of Grand Meadow, died November 26, 2008 at his home.
Kenny was born on Sept. 4, 1927 in Swea City, Iowa to Elmer and Jennie (Opsal) Fretty. He served in the Korean War from 1950-1952 when he was honorably discharged. On Sept. 2, 1952 he married Norma Richardson at the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Dexter.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sports activities and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Kenny is survived by his wife: Norma, Grand Meadow, Minn.; four children: Eugene (Vicki) Fretty, Connie Kielsmeier, Sheila (Kevin) Fretty, and Lori Fretty (fiancé Tim Larson) all of Grand Meadow, Minn.; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, and one sister, Muryne Bonnes of Austin, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Verle and Lowell, and 2 sisters, Beverly and Phyllis.
Memorial service for Kenny will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow with the Rev. Ann Siverling officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
