John R. Krull, age 67
John Robert Krull, 67, of Austin, died on Oct. 5, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester after a long battle with cancer.
John was born on Aug. 20, 1941 in Austin to Ben and Laverne (Meyer) Krull. On June 21, 1963 he was united in marriage to Kathryn Golden in Las Vegas, Nev. John started out working on the railroad and did many other jobs. He eventually ended up being a heavy equipment operator at Ulland Brothers for many years. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and tinkering in his garage.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kathy Krull, Austin; sons, Josh Krull, Hayfield, Judd (Anita) Krull, Neudrossenfeld, Germany; five grandchildren, Jared of Austin, Benjamin, Joshua, Philipp and Felicia of Neudrossenfeld, Germany; sisters, Suzanne (Dennis) Dock, Plymouth, Mary Jo (Jim) Schlichter, Austin; brothers-in-law, Don Bowman, Ft. Myers, Fla., Tom (Marge) Golden, Henderson, Nev.; mother-in-law, Hildegarde Golden, Austin; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara; father-in-law, Chuck Golden.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Scott Monson officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Mayer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. John has donated his body to Mayo Medical Science for research.
