Jeffrey A. Koch, 48
Jeffrey Alan Koch, 48, of Rose Creek died on Aug. 29, at the Austin Medical Center after a life-long battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
He was born Dec. 6, 1959 in Harvard, Ill., the son of Edward and Carol (Luerrsen) Koch. Jeffrey graduated from the Southland High School and attended Southwest State University and Riverland Community College.
He was a member of the Austin Gem and Mineral Society, MENSA, University of Minnesota White Wings, Southside 4-H Club, Austin Art Club, Austin Eagles, Friends of the J.C. Hormel Nature Center and RADAR of Rochester. Jeff’s many hobbies included collecting rocks, state souvenirs, military memorabilia, reading and traveling. He was a member of the Little Cedar Lutheran Church at Adams, Minn.
 Jeffrey is survived by his parents, Edward and Carol Koch, Rose Creek, Minn.; sister, Valerie (Kenneth) Pitzen, Stacyville, Iowa; brothers: Scott Koch, Winona, Minn., and Bil DeLong, Minneapolis, Minn.
A private family service will be held at Hoflanda Cemetery, Rose Creek. A scholarship fund has been set up in Jeffrey’s name.
