Charlotte F. Lien, 88
Charlotte Frances Lien, 88, formerly of Austin, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2008 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
She was born April 20, 1920 to Franklin and Hanna (Jorgenson) Kriz in Austin, where she grew up and attended school. She married Roland Lien in 1959 in Albert Lea; they made their home in Austin before moving to Sarasota, Fla. Roland died in 1994. After 25 years in Florida, Charlotte returned to Minnesota in 2002, making her home in Rochester at the Golden Living Center.
Survivors include children: Gary (Janith) Corkill, Austin, Karen (Harvey) Cotten, Rochester, Colleen (Homer) Williams, St. Paul, Jeannie (Richard) Sladky, Lombard, Ill., Steven Shaman, Baton Rouge, La., and Cheryl (Michael) Ouellette, St. Charles, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland; parents; and sister, Doris Schroeder.
Graveside services will be held at noon Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery with the Reverend Robert Stohlman officiating. Worlein Funeral Home in Austin is in charge of arrangements.
