The Riverland volleyball team (5-1 overall, 1-1 MCAC South) overcame some struggles in a 25-20, 18-25, 25-17, 25-19 win over Fergus Falls in Riverland Gym Friday night.

The Blue Devils overcame some serve receive issues in the first game and they started strong in the second game, before falling back. But Krissy Schemmel, who had 22 assists, while going 21-for-22 on jump serves along with two aces, served seven straight points to give Riverland an early 8-1 lead in the third game.

“They couldn’t convert Krissy’s serves very well and she was a big factor for us,” Riverland head coach Helen Jahr said.
