The Austin girls soccer team had a tough time keeping up with Albert Lea Tuesday night in a 7-0 loss.

“We continued to improve play in the middle of the field and held our own with possession of the ball, but could not find the back of the net,” Austin head coach Mark Raymond said. “Albert Lea was just a little too fast for us up front.”

Ariel Christensen scored six minutes into the match and the Tigers added three more goals in the first half for a comfortable 4-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half Albert Lea added three more goals and the Packers struggled to work their way out of their own end.

Austin (2-5-1 overall, 0-5-1 Big Nine) tallied just 10 shots in the game while the Tigers were relentless in their attack.

Maing Garcia made 10 saves for the Packers in the evening and was challenged throughout the evening.
