Pacelli and BP cross country teams run in Stewartville

The Pacelli cross country team opened its season in the 19-team Stewartville Invite Thursday.

Colin Sheehan took fifth overall for the boys as he finished in 18 minutes and 33 seconds, which is 28 seconds faster than he ran the race last season. Michael Bergstrom t ook 47th with a time of 21:12 for the boys, who had an incomplete team finish.

“Colin Sheehan opened his senior campaign with a very strong fifth place finish against many of the top runners from our Section,” Pacelli head coach Jim Parlin said. “Michael Bergstrom, while not running the time that he wanted, did improve 18 places over last year.”

Joshua Dockter of Schaeffer Academy took first with a time of 17:43.

The Pacelli girls had no varsity runners in the race.

BP also competed in the Stewartville Invite. Its boys and girls each took 10th place out of 19 teams.

For the BP boys, Jake Ellwood took 26th with a time of 20:05, Tim Boecker was 35th with a time of 20:27, Tyler Crabtree was 53rd with a time of 21:34, and Soren Peterson was 57th with a time of 21:51.

For the BP girls, Jenna Paulson was 32nd with a time of 18:39, and Tricia DeBoer was 40th with at time of 18:59.
