Letter: Mower County Relay for Life exceeded goal by more than $10,000

Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society’s signature event, is a life-changing experience that helps us celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against a disease that takes too much. This unforgettable event raises awareness and funds to save lives, help those touched by cancer and empower people to fight back against this disease.
In the past 23 years, funds raised from Relay for Life have helped the American Cancer Society save lives through expanding research, providing greater access to cancer information, passing legislation to protect public health and providing access to health care, and offering programs and services to cancer patients and their families.
On behalf of the American Cancer Society and the Mower County Relay for Life, we would like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors, teams and individuals who so graciously donated to this year’s Relay for Life. Our goal this year was $76,000; through your generosity we were able to exceed our goal this year by raising more than $89,000 and still counting! Also, more than 3,300 luminaries were sold.
