Scott D. Thoreson, 48
Scott David Thoreson, 48 of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Austin, died on July 14, 2008. He was born Jan. 19, 1960 to Rollin and Elvina (Cafourek) Thoreson in Rochester. The family moved to Austin where Scott graduated from high school in 1978. He married Bonnie Bendickson on Sept. 23, 1978 at St. Olaf Church. They were later divorced. Scott was employed by Austin Utilities. He married Lori Wischnack in September of 2000 in Austin, where they lived until moving to Shakopee. They were later divorced. Scott moved to Sacramento in October of 2003 where he was self-employed. He enjoyed running, biking and kayaking.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristi (Jason) Kopacz, Champlin, Jenny Thoreson, Austin; mother and stepfather, Elvina (David) Solomonson, Austin; grandson, Jack Thoreson, Austin; two brothers, Greg (Deb Ihrig) Haugland, Lyle, Steve (Connie) Thoreson, Downy, Calif.; four sisters, Pamela Strack, Austin, Penny (Steve) Arens, Austin, Sue (David) Hanson, Winona, Rochelle (Randy) Jech, Austin; first wife, Bonnie Thoreson, Champlin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rollin Thoreson and stepfather, Sherman Haugland.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2008 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Reverend Ron Barnett officiating. Visitation is at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Grandview Cemetery in Austin. Worlein Funeral Home in Austin is in charge of arrangements.
