Carol Mostrom is Mower County’s Employee of the Month award-winner.

“She’s very, very good and does a wonderful job,” said supervisor Wayne Madson, who nominated Mostrom for the honor.

Each month, the Mower County Board of Commissioners honor an employee nominated by department head or co-workers for doing an exemplary job in serving Mower County residents.

Mostrom, who started work for Mower County Oct. 20, 1999, is an office support specialist-senior.

Her first job with Mower County was working in the household hazardous waste department before she transferred to the emergency management and VSO office.

According to the county coordinator Craig Oscarson, Mostrom’s work to compile information for Federal Emergency Management Association, the Minnesota congressional delegation and Gov. Tim Pawlenty was instrumental in the swift declaration of a natural disaster after the June 14 flooding wreaked havoc in Mower County.

“It resulted in a federal disaster declaration that, in turn, will help obtain victims of the flooding in June,” Oscarson said.
