Inga J. Persoon, 79
Inga Jorgena Persoon, age 79 of Austin died on July 6, 2008 at Our House Assisted Living.
She was born May 31, 1929 in Kilburn, Wis., to Samuel and Marie (Eilertson) Oftedal.
Inga married Marvin Persoon and they were married for 49 years. Inga was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, where she often volunteered. In her spare time Inga enjoyed sewing, donating mittens and stuffed animals to children and 100 lap quilts to area nursing homes and the Ronald McDonald House. Inga also enjoyed artwork, painting, drawing, raising canaries, ice skating, biking, and especially watching the Minnesota Twins.
Inga is survived by her children, Linda Persoon, Chewelah, Wash., Mary Persoon (David Carlson), Fargo, N.D., Marvin Persoon, Jr., Austin, Debbie (Duff) Bement, Pine Island, Minn., Patty (Anthony) Tedeschi, Manor, Texas, Tammy Persoon, Stacy, Minn.; grandchildren, Nancy Blankenhagen, Mary Peterman, Renee Rein, Ken Gudgel, Amanda Christgau, Nikki Peterson, Amber Bement, Kathleen Carlson, Ann Carlson, Marvin Persoon III; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Rein, Adam Rein, Brittany Blankenhagen, Kyra Gudgel, Kendra Gudgel, Erik Peterman, Brianna Peterman; brother, Gerhardt Oftedal, Madison, S.D.; sister, Sally Granflaten, Madison; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Todd Portinga, AiM Officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m. and for one hour before the service at the church.
