Elda Miller

Elda E. Miller, 92, of rural Dexter died July 3, 2008 of natural causes at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she had been a patient for the past week.
Elda E. Schulz was born April 16, 1916 in Pleasant Valley Township, Mower County, Minn. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural schools. She was married on Jan. 9, 1939 on the Schulz family farm to Earl J. Miller. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Pleasant Valley Township, where they farmed the Miller family farm for more than 50 years and continued to live after retirement. Earl died in 1993.
Elda was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Sargeant and was active in its Ladies Aid activities. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, word puzzles, dancing and time spent with all her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter: Eldene (David) Walterman, Stewartville, Minn.; a son: Everett (Kathryn), Austin; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ernestina Schulz, and a brother, Elgar.
The funeral for Elda Miller will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Sargeant with the Rev. Ron Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday afternoon in Sargeant.
