Bernice Meany

Bernice Marie Meany, died in St. Anthony Village, Minn. on July 24, 2008 at age 90.
She was born in Rose Creek, Minn. on March 30, 1918 to Elizabeth and John White. Bernice grew up on her parents’ farm near Rose Creek and married Willard Meany in 1936. They had eight children. Bernice lived in Rose Creek and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church for over 60 years. She moved to Austin as a widow and enjoyed the company of many friends. Playing bridge was her passion. In later years, Bernice was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons: Jerry (Judy) Meany, Isle, Minn., Neil (Patrice) Meany, Wimberley, Texas; five daughters: Pat (Mark) Gilbertson, Seguin, Texas, Kathy (Bob) Toll, St. Anthony Village, Minn., Colleen (Larry) Urban, Hiawassee, Ga., Kelli (Charles) Bruner, Champlin, Minn., Erin Meany, Carbondale, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard; son, Terry; a grandson; two sisters; two brothers.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2008 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4-8 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
