A 17-year-old Austin male may face drug charges after police allegedly linked a sandwich bag containing LSD and marijuana to him after locating he and two others at Driesner Park after hours, according to Austin Police Chief Paul Philipp.

Philipp said an officer approached the three after noticing their bikes near a tree at Driesner Park around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old were seated nearby, he said.

After asking them to leave, the office allegedly noticed two sandwich bags and a gold pipe laying on the ground. Tests revealed that they contained unknown amounts of marijuana and acid, the chief said.

The 17-year-old believed to be culpable was transported to Many Rivers Detention Center in Rochester. The other minor was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and taken home, according to the chief, who said a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also found on the third, 18, male released at the scene.

All three are from Austin.
