Paramount to host rock ‘n’ roll, movie legend shows

Take your pick: old-time rock ‘n’ roll music or old-time movie legends.

The Paramount Theatre has both and their going to be performing in Austin in July.

The Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Happy Trails Theater is coming to Austin to present the Ron and Opal Erickson Show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Paramount Theatre.

All tickets are $12.

The Ericksons are a husband and wife singing duo who regularly perform at Branson, Mo. at the original Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Happy Trails Theater.

They offer a memory-filled evening including a video depicting a half century with Roy and Dale hosted by the show business and movie legends and their children.

There will be film clips of the couple’s movies, too.

The Ericksons call it their “Memory Tour” and there is sure to be no short supply of those from the legendary pair of performers.

Old-time rock music legends

The Paramount Theatre will host a Summer Rock Hit Makers’ Party, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12.

All tickets are $14.

Some of the favorite 1969s rockers, including original members of DJ and the Runaways and Crow, including Dave Wagner, lead singer of the band, will entertain during a trip down rock music’s memory lane.

Remember the hit song “Peter Rabbit?”

Denny Charnecki and the DC Drifters will also be featured.

The band’s “Louisiana Blues” and the classic “I Know” will be recreated on the Paramount Theatre stage.

Austin’s own Nancy Rindflesch will recreate music from the hey days of her band, Continental Coeds, will bring the Iowa Rock Music Hall of Fame inductee to the forefront once again.

Tickets to both shows are now on sale. The Paramount Theatre box office is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
