Carol Morse

Carol Joanne Morse, 72, formerly of LeRoy, died on May 31, 2008 at the Charter House in Rochester from Cancer.

Mrs. Morse was born on June 15, 1935 in Austin, where she grew up and graduated from Austin High School in 1953. She then graduated from Austin Junior College and attended Mankato State College. On Sept. 7, 1958, Carol married Dr. Roger D. Morse in Austin. They moved to LeRoy in 1961 and resided there until 2004 when they moved to Rochester. Mrs. Morse was a member of LeRoy Lutheran Church and later Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Mrs. Morse worked as a dental assistant, secretary and had antique shops in LeRoy and Rochester (Abigail’s). Carol was a member of the church council and the LeRoy Commercial Club. She was active in Church ALCW, WELCA and church circles. She also enjoyed antiquing, traveling and her five grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dr. Roger D. Morse; two sons, Jeffrey (Dawn), Racine, Minn., Gregory, Mantorville, Minn.; daughter, Susan (Scott) Spilde, Ridgeway, Iowa; five grandchildren; sister, Jean (Lee) Hehl, Bella Vista, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Ruby Hegstad of Austin, and daughter-in-law Jeanne Morse.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy, and one hour prior to the service at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester with the Rev Kathie Nycklemoe officiating. Burial will be in the LeRoy Cemetery in LeRoy, Minn. Memorials are suggested to LeRoy Lutheran Church or Mt Olive Luther Church in Rochester.
