Austin native Conrad Ray has a busy week in front of him.

The Stanford head golf coach and former Stanford golfer will be coaching the United States against Europe in the 2008 Palmer Cup, which pits college starts against each other.

The Ryder Cup style event will be played this Thursday through Sunday in Glasgow Golf Club’s Gailes Links in Scotland.

Ray is currently in his fourth season at the helm of the Cardinal program, which won the NCAA Championship last spring for the first time since 1994. Ray, a member of that 1994 squad, is one of the elite few NCAA head coaches to have won an NCAA title as both an athlete and coach.
