Ruby Lee

Ruby Jeanette Lee, 99, died on April 29, 2008, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minn.

Ruby was born on March 20, 1909, the daughter of Anton and Marie (Moe) Lee, in Vernon Township, Minn. She was baptized and confirmed at West St. Olaf Church in rural Hayfield, Minnesota. On Feb. 22, 1927, she was married to Jerold Lee in Hayfield. To this union, eight children were born. Two died at infancy and one son, Merlyn Lee died in an accidental drowning in 1955. Ruby worked for Lyle Larson farms and with her husband on their farm. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, and music.

Ruby is survived by five children, Eunice (Morris Linbo) Boysen, Austin; Mavis (Donald) Odegard, Seattle, Wash.; Erling (Lucille) Lee, Zumbro Falls, Minn., Delmar (Danielle) Lee, Glendale, Calif., Don (Judy) Lee, Kasson, Minn., 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and five sisters.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008 at Evanger Lutheran Church, in rural Sergeant, with the Reverend Robert Bergland officiating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield, and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
