Gerald “Jerry” Goodwin

Gerald “Jerry” Maynard Goodwin, age 66, died May 23, 2008 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Born July 21, 1941, in Austin, Minn., to Maynard and Opal Goodwin, he attended Austin High School where he was a member of the state champion basketball team in 1958. He attended South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City on a basketball and track and field scholarship. He earned his mechanical engineering degree. A member of Triangle Fraternity, he worked for Eastman Kodak Company, Sperry-Univac in Eagan and Honeywell in Phoenix, Ariz.
He is survived by wife: Nancy Goodwin, Phoenix, Ariz.; son: Andrew Goodwin; daughter: Melinda (Jamie) Bianchet; sister: Carol (Jim) Lewis.
Funeral service will be at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Ron Barnett officiating on Saturday, May 31, 2008, 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 30, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Red Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Austin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Foundation (SDSM&T Foundation).
