Festivals, fund-raisers to be held

Warm, summer temperatures should be the cue to get out of the house this weekend and enjoy the bevy of activities in and around the Austin area.

Arguably, the largest event will be this weekend's Dairy Days in Adams. But there's other fun times to be had as well.

Saturday is the Spring Fling rummage sale in the downtown Austin area. Proceeds from the event go to benefit the Mower County Humane Society. For information, call Ron or Josh at Piggy Blues at 434-8485.

There will also be a benefit dinner for Jeff Witt on Saturday at the Lyle American Legion. A free will donation will be collected. The dinner takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. and "Cold Fire" will perform from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
