Jenna Granle, of Austin, told police her vehicle was stolen Saturday after she had left it running.

According to an Austin Police Department report, Granle parked her auto along South Main Street in front of the El Mariachi restaurant Saturday night. She left the car unlocked and the engine running, while she went inside the restaurant to pick up take-out food. When she returned the car was gone.

Granle and restaurant employees identified a teenage boy standing in the entry-way to the restaurant before the car was stolen at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

Sometime later Saturday night, the Albert Lea Police Department reported the 1997 red Pontiac Grand Prix was stopped in the Freeborn County city and two 15-year-old boys inside the vehicle taken into custody.

The car had been involved in an accident, but was returned to its owner, according to police.

Today, Mower County Sheriff's Office deputies and Austin Police Department officers have had a few weather-related mishaps to investigate.

The weekend of bad weather began Friday afternoon, when rain turned to sleet and then snow. Overnight Sunday, a major winter snowstorm dumped up to a foot of snow on the area.

As of this morning, police and sheriff office spokespersons reported only a few accidents and none involving personal injuries.
