Blooming Prairie pounded out 15 runs on 15 hits and the Blossom defense did not committ an error behind Kraig Olson in a 15-4, five-inning Gopher Conference victory over host Alden-Conger Monday night.

The Blossoms (3-0, 2-0) scored four runs before A-C had the opportunity to hit. Blooming ran its lead to 11-2 after a seven-run third inning.

Olson made the lead stand up with 11 strikeouts in his first outing. He surrendered four earned runs and three walks but scattered Alden-Conger's 15 hits.

"This was a nice game for Kraig to get back on track," said BP head coach Chris Staloch.

Three Blossom hitters had three hits each. David Kramer was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, Tom Farr was 3-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and Andy Helkenn was 3-3 with two runs and five RBIs.

Helkenn hit a two-run homer in the first inning and added a bases-loaded double to plate three runs in BP's seven-run third.

Steve Seykora took a break from pitching to go 1-3 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBIs, driving in a pair with a triple in the third.

Alden-Conger's offense came from Josh Wills, who hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first and drove in two more with a triple in the fifth.

The Blossoms stay in Gopher Conference play with a home game against Mankato Loyola today at 4:30 p.m.
