Margaret L. Schriever, 71

Margaret Leah Schriever (nee Tindal), age 71, of Austin, died Monday, March 17, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Margaret was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Lyle, Minn., to Lee and Margaret (Grant) Tindal.

On Aug. 7, 1956, she was united in marriage to Harold B. Schriever at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin.

A lifelong Austin resident, Margaret liked dancing, camping, playing cards, collecting dolls and novelty clocks. She enjoyed time with friends and family. Margaret attended Columbus and St. Augustine School in Austin. She liked crocheting, crafts and collecting items representing her Irish heritage. She also had a large animated Christmas figurine collection. Margaret was a retired employee of Hormel Foods after 32 years of employment.

Survivors include her husband: Harold Schriever, Austin; son: Richard (Gwen) Schriever, New Richland; daughter: Darcy Schriever, Austin; two grandchildren: Dustin and Tawnya Schriever; sisters: Mary Jane Lenoch, Austin; Betty (Dave) Monty, Austin; Marcella (Otto) Mullenbach, Austin; Joanne (Allen) Kunze, Ogden, Utah; Joan (Jerry) Smith, Adams; brother: Jack (Gerri) Tindal, Waterville; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Lee and Margaret Tindal; infant son: Dustin Lee Schriever; brother: Tom Tindal; brother-in-law: Floyd Lenoch.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2003, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Paul Nelson officiating. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary and 6:30 p.m. wake service on Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. and also from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The honorary casket bearers will be Peg Schwartz, Tawnya Schriever, Dawn Martinez, John Kunze and Dustin Schriever. The casket bearers will be Rick Smith, Ed Lenoch, Randy Lenoch, Mark Tindal, Dale Mullenbach and Rod Rud.

Lloyd Start, Sr., 94

Lloyd C. Start, Sr., 94, of LeRoy, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at the Ostrander Nursing Home.

He was born July 19, 1908, in Bennington Township to Samuel and Minnie (Johnson) Start. He attended local schools through the eighth grade. He grew up on the family farm and eventually took over the family operation with his brothers.

On Jan. 9, 1941, he married Ruby Eastwold at the family farm in rural LeRoy. They had one son.

Lloyd lived at the Ostrander Nursing Home for a short time.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby, LeRoy; son, Lloyd Jr. (Christine Mulhern), LeRoy; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Start, Osage, Iowa; niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003 at the funeral home and Friday at the church for one hour before the service.

Service: 2 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy with the Rev. Kay Stedham officiating.

Interment: LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery.
