Austin High School graduate Beth Bue ended her collegiate basketball career March 15 in the NCAA Region 8 semifinals for North Dakota State University. The Bison were defeated by the University of South Dakota, 81-64.
Bue played for NDSU for five years, being medical redshirted her first year after the second knee injury in her career. In her senior season, Bue led her team in scoring with 14.1 points per game, and she was second in rebounding with 6.2 boards per game.
Highlights of her career were getting to the National Championship game in 2001 at Pine Bluff, Ark., and making All-Conference in her senior year. Bue set two school records from beyond the three-point circle -- netting nine threes in a single game and a single-season record of 72 three-pointers.
The Bison were 26-7 overall this season.
