Laura M. Dalager, 73

Laura Marie Dalager, 73, of rural Austin, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Austin Medical Center.

She was born May 1, 1929, to G. Covert and Bertha (Burke) Samuel in Sigourney, Iowa. She moved to the Austin area and graduated from Austin High School.

On March 13, 1948, she married Kenneth Dalager at Lansing United Methodist Church.

Laura enjoyed gardening, crafting, fishing and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; sons, Joe (Pam) Dalager, St. Louis Park; Mike (Julie) Dalager, Shoreview; daughter, Carol (Timothy) Prout, Boulder, Colo.; five grandchildren; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold; and granddaughter, Lindsay.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at the funeral home and Friday at the church for one hour before the service

Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lansing Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Tamke officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery.

Funeral Home: Worlein Funeral Home, Austin.

Memorials: To Lansing United Methodist Church or the donor's choice.

Clyde F. Seiver, 80

Clyde Franklin Seiver, 80, formerly of Austin, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in Rogers, Ark.

He was born May 31, 1922, to Jennings and Ella Seiver in Brock, Neb.

He graduated from Austin High School and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Hormel Foods Corp. in 1980.

On Dec. 20, 1941, he married Audrey Cruikshank in Owatonna. They moved to Austin where they lived until 1987. Audrey died Nov. 24, 1989, in Austin. On Feb. 2, 1991, Clyde married Lorraine Johnson in Camarillo, Calif.

Clyde was a member of Fidelity Lodge #39 in Austin and Eastern Star. He enjoyed fishing and nature.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, Rogers, Ark.; children, Gordon Seiver, Placentia, Calif.; Barbara Seiver, Arlington, Texas; stepson, Joel (Cindy) Johnson; one grandson; step-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Katherine Seiver, Austin; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey; and brother, Don.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, with a 7 p.m. Masonic service at the funeral home and Saturday at the church for one hour before the service.

Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Austin.

Interment: Grandview Cemetery, Austin.

Bernard A. Hylle, 81

Bernard Arnold Hylle, age 81, of Austin, died Saturday evening, Feb. 15, 2003, at St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin. Bernie's life was sustained for the past five and a half years by kidney dialysis.

He was born April 13, 1921, to Andrew and Ingeborg (Bakketun) Hylle in Austin, Minn. He graduated in 1939 from Austin High School. Following his father's death, Bernard was an after-school custodian from 1938 until 1942. He was drafted into the Army during World War II and served with the engineers in Europe for three years. Upon returning from the war he worked as a mechanic for Hormel Foods Corp. until his retirement in 1985.

He married Doris Nelson on Sept. 10, 1949, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Arthur L. Swenson officiating.

A lifelong member of St. Olaf Church, Bernie volunteered with transportation for organizations such as People Needing People, Wee Learning, the church van and St. Mark's van. He taught Sunday School for 35 years and gave many hours of his time to Habitat for Humanity. Bernie was one of many veterans honored by the French government a few years ago.

He enjoyed playing snooker at the Senior Citizens Center and summer vacations at Whitefish Lake. Other hobbies included reading, sports, woodworking, playing with the grandchildren and reading to them.

Survivors include wife, Doris Hylle of Austin; children, Paul Hylle of Grand Meadow; Barbara Hylle of Minneapolis; Denise Hylle of Sheridan, Wyo.; John (Melody) Hylle of Owatonna; two grandchildren, Samuel Bernard and Lauren June Hylle; sister, Selma (Robert) Matter of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Marietta (Arthur) Hylle of Austin; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ingeborg Hylle; an infant sister and brother, Arthur Martin Hylle.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kristin K. Wee officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Worlein Funeral Home. There will be no reviewal at church. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery.
