Hayfield drops game to Fillmore Central; Prep Roundup

The Hayfield boys’ basketball team dipped to .500 for the season with a 68-60 non-conference loss at home Saturday night to Fillmore Central.
Tyler Kramer and David Johnson combined for 43 of Hayfield’s 60 points, netting 22 and 21 respectively. Johnson also made it a double-double with a team-leading 13 rebounds.
Drew Wanzek chipped in with nine points and five boards for the Vikings (9-9, 6-5), who host Rochester Lourdes Friday night.
L-O girls still searching for first win
LeRoy-Ostrander’s girls team remained winless with a 79-33 loss to Southeast Conference foe Lanesboro Friday night in LeRoy.
Vicki Nolt led the Cardinals (0-18, 0-10) with 16 points, and Nichollette Frazier had nine points and 10 boards.
Five Lanesboro players scored in double figures, led by Jessica Overland’s 17.
The L-O girls play back-to-back non-conference games on the road this week, starting tonight at Hayfield at 7:30 p.m. The Cardinals visit Alden-Conger Tuesday evening, and Houston hosts L-O for an SEC match on Thursday.
Around the area Friday night, Grand Meadow won a 63-62 overtime conference game against Houston.
