It gets no easier for the Lyle/Pacelli basketball team.

L/P, after falling to 1-15 with Thursday night's 63-42 loss to Glenville-Emmons, will host Southland on Monday night at Pacelli before visiting second-ranked LeRoy-Ostrander on Tuesday.

"We're trying," L/P coach Gary Erlandson said after Thursday's home defeat. "We felt we practiced really well this week. We came in with a lot of confidence and even started playing that way."

Lyle/Pacelli led for much of the first quarter but the G-E Wolverines came back for a 15-12 advantage and carried it the rest of the way. Glenville-Emmons outscored L/P 21-9 in the third quarter to put the game away.

"I wasn't even as worried about Glenville's struggles as I was our own," Erlandson said. "We tried to get a five-man operation going and it worked very well early on. But then we forgot about it."

Nick Ehret led Lyle/Pacelli (1-15, 1-8) with 12 points and Mark Van Winter added 10.
