The Austin Lions Club will be serving pancakes, French toast and sausage from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church.

Tickets for the Austin Lions Club Pancake Day can be bought in advance or at the door for $4. Children age 7 and under are free.

The 43rd Annual Pancake Day raises money for 17 local organizations, which are listed on the back of this year's tickets. All of the money raised goes toward the organizations, not the club itself, said Austin Lions Club President Scott Richardson.

Lions Club member Mike Williams said the organizations that receive donations from the fund-raiser are usually the same each year.

"There are a few that come up during the year," he said of new causes.

The event attracts about 1,800 people a year, Williams said.

About 50 Austin Lions Club members volunteer to staff the event, whether it be serving pancakes or clearing tables, Williams said.
