Although Veterans Day is still more than two weeks away, we've been thinking about it for some time.

We're still looking for submissions from area veterans on their experiences serving their country.

We're planning on running some stories next month that will not only honor our local veterans, but give our readers a glimpse into the thoughts and minds of those who so bravely fought for our country, and helped ensure and guarantee the freedoms we have today.

We ask those who can submit stories and photos to do so by Thursday night. Just stop on by our office and head upstairs to our newsroom. If our news clerk, Jaime Braun, isn't able to help, someone else will be more than happy to take your information.

One of our mission here is to inform the public. Through the insight of local veterans by words and pictures, we hope to accomplish just that.
