Packers volleyball season ended

The Austin volleyball team ended its season Wednesday night, dropping all three games in its match against the third-seeded Waseca Bluejays in the first round of the Section 1AAA tournament in Waseca.
The 10th-seeded Packers, who lost 3-0 to Waseca earlier in the season, lost 15-11, 15-11, 15-6.
Austin kept the match interesting during game one by getting as close as 11-10 before the Bluejays pointed their way to 15.
The Packers scored the first five points of the second game before allowing Waseca back into the game. The Bluejays kept the momentum throughout the last game to secure their advancement into the second round.
Theresa Hirsch led the Packers with 13 kills, four blocks and 19 digs. Natalie Miller dished out a team-high 21 assists, adding 15 digs and three aces.
Angie Rohne donated seven kills, and teammates Lauren Royce and Laura Geffert had five kills each. Royce also contributed 14 digs.
Austin finished the 2002 season with a record of 11-17.
