Southland smothers Wabasha-Kellogg, 42-0

Southland broke back to even this season with a 42-0 schellacking of Wabasha-Kellogg Friday night in Wabasha.

The Rebels (1-1) scored 36 first-half points powered by the run and the pass, which by the end of the night had accumulated 330 yards of total offense.

Adam Nagele hit Tim Schneider for a 44-yard touchdown pass to break the scoreless tie in the first quarter, and a 74-yard connection between the same duo gave Southland a 29-0 lead in the second quarter.

Schneider finished with three catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Steve Snyder handled the bulk of the rushing duties with 72 yards and three touchdowns. Nagele added a touchdown run to start the scoring in the second quarter.

Wabasha-Kellogg fell to 0-2 with the loss.

The host Falcons managed to throw for only four of their 112 total yards.

Southland stays in cross-conference action in the Three Rivers with a home game against Goodhue Friday night in Adams.
