Mudra was one of four L/P netters with more than 30 kills in the tournament. Ashley Halbach, Angela Kuttner and Nina Hollerud each tallied 31 attack kills.

Halbach led the team with 53 digs while Kuttner served the team to 41 points during the five games. Rebecca Mino served at a 98 percent clip.

"In tournaments we got third at Hayfield, and now first at Southland, so we’re off to a good start," said L/P co-coach Norm Blaser. "Having Lou (Mudra) back makes a big difference."

L/P is 11-3 overall and 3-2 in the Southeast Conference. They host Grand Meadow Thursday at Pacelli High School.

Southland was led on the day by Allison Chapek’s nine kills, all of which came in pool play. Bridget Felten was successful on 20-of-23 attacks, and Laura Nelsen was 100 percent serving. Megan Schroeder contributed four aces for the Rebels.

Southland returns to Three Rivers Conference play with a match at Chatfield Tuesday. The Lady Rebels host Dover-Eyota Thursday night for homecoming.
