A bicyclist was taken to the Austin Medical Center Monday after he was hit by a semi truck.
According to police reports, the driver of the semi, a 42-year-old Waltham man was driving on Hormel Century Drive at 7:20 a.m. Monday when he said he was blinded by the sun. The driver said he then stopped the truck because he was told by an on-coming semi that he had hit a bicyclist.
The truck had damage to its right front fender and the bicyclist, a 46-year-old Austin man, had cuts on his hands and nose and complained of chest pains.
The bicyclist was then taken to AMC for treatment.
