Gehl and Renea Mittelsted of Austin announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Lynn Mittelsted to Leonard Arthur Grant, son of David and Sandra Grant of Austin.

The couple will be married Aug. 31, 2002, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Austin.

Pastor Don and Judy Deines of Austin announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Deines, to Daniel John Rickard Forsgren, son of Linda Forsgren of Minneapolis and the late John Forsgren.

Sarah and Dan are students at Augsburg College. Sarah is an elementary education major and Dan is a youth and family ministry major.

The couple will be married in September at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Austin. The reception will be at the Holiday Inn.

Shannan Finkelson and Randolph Thom, both of Ellsworth Wis., announce their engagement.

Shannan is a 1993 graduate of Austin High School and a 1998 graduate of Riverland Community College. She is currently completing her accounting degree at Metro State University in St. Paul.

Randolph is a 1986 graduate of Ellsworth High School and is a manager at the Woodshed in Hager City, Wis.

A September wedding is planned in River Falls, Wis.

Emily Stevenson and Eric Frank, both of St. Paul, announce their engagement.

Emily is the daughter of John and Julie Stevenson of Austin and Eric is the son of John and Mary Frank of Cottage Grove.

Emily is a 1996 graduate of Austin High School and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2000 with a bachelor of arts degree in English. She is employed at the Standard Insurance Company in Edina.

Eric is a 1995 graduate of Park High School in Cottage Grove and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2001 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. He is employed at Epoxical, Inc. in South Saint Paul.

The couple will be married Sept. 14, 2002, at 4 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Austin.
