The Winona LeJetz came back from a six-run deficit to take the first game and eventually both ends of a doubleheader over the Austin Legion baseball team Sunday at Williams Field in Winona.
Winona won the opener 7-6, fueled by four Austin errors, and the host LeJetz scored a 7-2 victory in the second game of the First District twinbill.
Jim Knoebel's opposite-field home run in the opening game highlighted Austin's offensive performance. His two-run shot sparked Austin's four-run first inning, but Winona still had enough left to make the improbable comeback.
The LeJetz scored three runs in the fourth and fifth innings and added the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh.
Curtis Lilly and Grant Lunning each had RBI-doubles for Post 91.
The local Legion team hits the road again tonight with a league doubleheader at Mayo Field against the Rochester A's starting at 6 p.m.
