Three A's make All-Star team

Hayfield/Austin Athletics' Troy Holtz, Eric Schmeling and Luke Fischer were chosen to play in Tuesday's Twin Rivers League All-Star Game at 7:30 p.m. at Marcusen Park in Austin.

Holtz, the A's player/coach, is hitting over .400 at the end of the regular season. Schmeling, a center fielder, leads the team in home runs, while Fischer is the team's top pitcher.

The A's trio will play as part of the Cannon Division against the All-Stars from the Zumbro Division. Because the Cannon Division playoffs begin on Wednesday and the Zumbro starts on Friday, teams' top pitchers may not throw in the All-Star game.
