Throngs of folks will be in Austin this weekend for the grand opening festivities in conjunction with the Spam Museum Jam. However, other activities are going on locally as well.

Tonight, the Austin Swing Band kicks off the museum's opening weekend with "Let's Swing." The event, which costs $5, begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, there will be a Spring Fling Public Rummage Sale and there will be the Mower County Human Society's Public Auction at 11 a.m. in downtown Austin. For information, call Ron or Josh at Piggy Blues at 434-8485.
