Kasson-Mantorville may have had the meet's low score, but the Austin girls' golf team had the consistency to take a 359-399 non-conference dual from the KoMets Wednesday at the Austin Country Club.

Meg O'Neil of Kasson-Mantorville took meet medalist honors with a round of 84, but she was the only one of four KoMet golfers to score below 100. The Packers only counted one score over 90.

Brittany Bertilson and Andrea Petersen tied for runner-up honors with congruent rounds of 85. Claire Johnson shot an 89 and Noelle Wiebelhaus added a 100 for the Packers, who are 6-0 in duals this season. This was the first meet in which Austin counted three scores in the 80s, highlighted by Petersen's career-best 85.

"She had a fantastic day from tee-to-green," said Austin coach Mark Anderson. "She had a couple of rough holes but didn't let that get to her and continued to plug away and play a great round."

Bertilson was well on her way to meet medalist honors, but back-to-back triple bogeys on the back nine slowed her still-solid round of 85.

This was the first non-conference meet of the season for Austin, who hosts Owatonna and Rochester John Marshall Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Austin Country Club.
