See a play

Southland Drama presents "Our Miss Brooks," a delightful three-act comedy, at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday. The play is a light-hearted look at a high school play production through the eyes of its director and her cast. The play is at Southland High School in Adams.

Find a bargain

Head south on Highway 218 to St. Ansgar, Iowa, on Saturday for that city’s 46th annual street sale. The event starts at 10:30 a.m. in the city parking lot. Gift certificates and consigned and donated items will be auctioned. Proceeds go toward the St. Ansgar Lions Club’s sight and hearing commitments and community betterment projects.

Meet Doug Wood

Doug Wood, wilderness guide, songwriter, musician and author, will be at the J.C. Hormel Nature Center in Austin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday meals

If you’re hungry on Sunday, breakfast and supper are covered:

A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin.

A benefit supper and silent auction will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle.
