Saturday’s threatening weather forced the cancellation of several area sporting events:

– The remaining games in the Rebel Classic at Southland High School in Adams were postponed. A new date was not given.

– The Austin High School dance team didn’t travel to Lakeville for the Lakeville Invitational.

– The AHS gymnastics team didn’t travel because Blue Earth Invitational was canceled.

– The boys swim team didn’t go to Mankato East for an invitational.

– The AHS boys B basketball team did not go to Rochester Lourdes for a tournament.

– The AHS Packers wrestlers didn’t go to Faribault for the Faribault Invitational.

– The Riverland Community College men’s and women’s teams games with Mid-State Technical College of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., was canceled.

– Ragnar, the Minnesota Vikings’ mascot, did not travel to Austin to make an appearance at Hy-Vee. Ragnar apparently will be rescheduled for a later date.
