DEXTER – Roger A. Christgau, Edina, reported the theft of items from two storage sheds at a building site in Dexter Township.

According to a Mower County Sheriff’s Department report, the thefts occurred sometime between Nov. 15 and 22, when they were discovered.

Thieves unsuccessfully attempted to remove a John Deere-model "Gator" all terrain vehicle from a shed.

Taken in the burglary were portable gas tanks, a heater and tools.

Carpet taken from storage

Four rolls of carpet valued between $2,000 and $3,000 were taken from a storage trailer.

According to a Mower County Sheriff’s Department report, the carpet was stored by Doors & Floors, Inc. of Austin.

The mauve-colored carpet was kept in a semi-trailer at a rural Austin site, according to the Sheriff’s Department report.

Utility trailer missing

Kuehne Motor Company, Inc. of Austin, has reported the theft of a Featherlite trailer valued at $5,000.

According to an Austin Police Department report, the theft occurred from the Austin lot sometime between Nov. 10 and 15 from the dealer’s North Main Street lot.

The trailer is described as a 7-by-14 foot enclosed utility trailer.

Money taken from safe

LYLE – The Lyle Police Department is investigating the theft of $2,112 from the residence of Eva Adair Krulish.

According to a police report, the money was taken from three pouches kept in a locked safe in a bedroom closet at the Krulish home.

The theft was discovered Nov. 20.

According to the police investigation, no pry marks were noticed on the safe and no forced entry was found at the Krulish home.

Only the money in the three bags was taken. Jewelry and legal papers kept in the safe were left behind.
