Lyle’s new water tower was erected into place on Tuesday and area residents watched the operation.

A "for sale" sign has been placed on the old Lyle water tower by a prankster. The facility has served the community for more than 100 years. The new tower has double the capacity and will begin operation in the spring of 2001. It will be painted white with blue stripes and letters saying "Lyle."
