Wednesday at the Austin Country Club there was an 18-hole best shot/alternative shot tournament and a nine-hole best shot tournament. There was a total of 42 golfers.

The first flight winner in the 18-hole event was the duo of Joan Saxton and Camilla Farnsworth. They shot an 86. Second place went to Ann Jones and Carol Anfinson, who shot a 90. There was a tie for third. The team of Jane Rysavy and Joyce Halvorson and the team of Sheri Newhouse and Bette Rugg both shot 91s. Closest to the pin at the seventh hole was Carol Hunter.

There was a tie for first in the second flight. Carol Albers and Carol Hunter shot a 95 as did Vicki Schulte and LaVonne Elmer. Third went to Peggy Drennan and Elaine Brustad, 99. In fourth was Joann Leighton and Marilyn Halverson with a 102. Closest to the pin at hole nine was Gwen Morem.

There was a tie for first in the nine-hole event. Eldeen Peter and Betty Altum used 47 seven strokes to get around the front nine as did Dorothy Gebel and Julie Nelson. The long putt at number eight was by Sue Mann.
