A fire Thursday afternoon in a Brownsdale garage didn’t hurt any people, but it destroyed a 1974 Calumet motorhome parked inside as well as the garage.

Property owner Kenneth Wytaske said no one was home at the time of the fire, but he noticed afterwards that a box of matches was missing from his garage, according to a report given by Sheriff Barry Simonson. Also damaged were three vehicles parked near the garage: a Ford Explorer, Pontiac 6000 and a Chevy Corsica.

Damages were estimated at $30,000. A state fire marshall is trying to determine the cause of the fire.
